Some question around date of this contest: "I'm researching George Allan, but when I have looked for newspaper reports of this contest I have seen in both the Newcastle Evening Chronicle and the Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette of Mon 13th July 1903 that on this date the Hebburn Temperance band was at a different contest at Philadelphia where J Brier was the judge. If this was on a different date I'd be interested to know when."
