Helmut Schmid, born in Piller in 1970, has been the musical director of the Landeck Municipal Band since November 2000. Schmid has been involved in brass music on a voluntary basis at the state and later national level since 2001.
He was the state youth representative of the Tyrolean Wind Music Association for nine years . From 2004 he worked as deputy federal youth representative until he was elected federal youth representative of the ÖBV in 2013. He resigned from this position when he was elected federal bandmaster.
