Inverclyde (Council Area), Scotland, UK

The modern day council area of Inverclyde is the Western portion of the historic county of Renfrewshire, the territory of which was subsumed into the region of Strathclyde from 16th April 1975 until 1st April 1996. The historic county covers fully the council areas of Inverclyde, Renfrewshire, and East Renfrewshire, and also a portion of the Glasgow City council area.
