Established in 1990, the Strathclyde University Concert Band is comprised of current students, staff, and alumni of the university, as well as students from other institutions. Under the musical direction of conductor Chris Mitchell, the band has grown in recent years and has won a number of high awards at the Scottish Concert Band Festival and the National Concert Band Festival along with presenting several concerts a year across the Greater Glasgow area. The band accepts woodwind, brass, percussion and string bass players.
