Bands performed an own-choice programme not exceeding 20 minutes, which must include at least eight minutes of original brass band music. There was no set test-piece.
All bands were awarded a Certificate of Achievement (Gold, Silver, Bronze or Merit) to indicate their level of playing within the section.
