Article in British Bandsman 29/8/1936 states - "One band -Mossley I believe at was- had got well on with the piece when it was stopped by the adjudicator, Mr F.Haynes. After a wait they had to start over again. The reason was that the adjudicator could not hear the band properly owing to the liner 'Campania' coming up the river".
