Formed 1906 as Birdwell and District, renamed Barrow Colliery 1931, and temporarily disbanded in World War 2. Reformed 1946 as Birdwell Brass. Became Barrow Colliery again in October 1953, then Barnsley Building Society in 1989, and to Barnsley Brass in 2012.
