The Finglas Concert Band is a community based organisation offering a musical education to people in Finglas and the surrounding areas. Based in Beneavin College, Finglas East, the band offers lessons in a wide range of woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments, in addition to a growing guitar ensemble. Students receive tuition in their chosen instrument, lessons in music theory and the opportunity to perform with either the Junior or Senior section of the Concert Band. In addition to performing in many leading venues across the city, the band has also represented Dublin in the St.Patricks day parade in New York, The National Band Championships and the South of Ireland Band Championships. Under the tutelage of Musical Director Mr. Gavin Warren (Principal Tuba, Army No.1 Band) the Finglas Concert Band offers the opportunity for students to enhance their musical ability, practically and academically in a fun and encouraging environment.
