Under the direction of Dr. Danielle VanTuinen, the University of Florida Brass Band was established during the 2019 pandemic as an outlet for
students to continue performing during very uncertain times. Since the inaugural year, the brass band has established itself as one of the only
collegiate brass bands within the state of Florida. The ensemble began as an American brass band in order to accommodate for the lack of
instrumentation, and over the past two years has grown into a fully established British Brass Band. The band functions as an outlet for students
to learn the history and role the brass band plays within the greater brass world.
