Bands’ programs should consist of a major work, and a piece from two of the following categories: a march, a slow melody, a fanfare, or a solo/section feature..
The major work should be between 7-21 minutes in duration and will comprise 50% of the final score.
Each other piece performed should be between 2.5-5 minutes in length and will comprise 25% of the final score apiece.
Any timing penalties will be assessed at a rate of a 1-point deduction (out of 100) per ½ minute overtime or part thereof.
Band Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
Overall 1st place (Elite or Challenge section): Five Lakes Silver Band
Overall 2nd place (Elite or Challenge section): Oakland University Brass Band
Overall 3rd place (Elite or Challenge section): Dublin Silver Band
Best Challenge Section Band (Challenge section only): Motor City Brass Band
Runner-Up Challenge Section Band (Challenge section only): River's Edge Brass Band
Second Runner-Up Challenge Section Band (Challenge section only): Cincinnati Brass Band
Band Caption Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:
