The contest scheduled for 28th August 1993 was cancelled after Edinburgh City Council withdrew financial assistance. In replacement, the bands held a contest at Aysgarth in North Yorkshire instead on the same date, which was called the <a href="http://brassbandresults.co.uk/contests/wensleydale-international-festival/1993-08-28">Wensleydale International Festival</a>.
