Boughey's special challenge cup, awarded for the best instrumental- ist at the festival, was carried off by Mr. A. Moore, trombone, of Enfield. The test piece for the first division was the tone poem, " Labour of Love " (Fletcher).
POOR MARCH PLAYING.
The march playing wis disappoint- ingly poor. Several of the bands tried to play marches that were obviously beyond them, and the time was generally faulty.The two prizes were amalgamated into one award of £2, and this was divided between Wood Green and Willesden Town. ...
