2nd annual contest promoted by Heap Bridge Band.
When draw was first made band no 1 did not appear. Subsequently all other bands refused to go on and were all fined 10 shillings. When called again all bands played in order. Millgate and Littledborough were disqualified for refusing to pay 10 shilling fine. (Brass Band News June 1891)
