Born Pemberton, Wigan 28th November, 1890. Solo trombone at Wingates from 1909.
Appointed conductor/bandmaster of Wingates at end of 1928. Left in November 1936 to take over at Creswell Colliery. Became M.D. at Leyland Motors 1949.
