Organist, professor of music at Tynemouth and St Cuthbert's College, Durham. Wrote waltzes polkas etc as well as hymn tunes.
Notable works: Easy Hymn Tunes for Catholic Schools; Royal Modern Tutor for Pianoforte; Crown of Jesus.
His music included also Daily, Daily, Loretto, Sabbata, St. Bernard and St. Catherine.
