Handel Lancaster
Is this the Stephen Handel Lancaster who was listed in the 1911 census in London as a music hall orchestral conductor, aged 33?
According to some archive copies of Wright and Round's 'Brass Band News', Handel Lancaster advertised as a Band Teacher, Adjudicator and Arranger. He conducted the Merseyside Professional Military Band and also the Waterloo-Seaforth British Legion Silver Band up till around 1937 when he was a resident of Russian Avenue in Old Swan, Liverpool. By 1938 , he had moved to Southcroft Road, Gosport in Hampshire. I have only just myself stumbled upon this, and I am delving further! Neil Edwards.
