Harry Cecil Alderson Fox, MBE. Born in England (probably Doncaster, acc to British BDM). He came from England ca 1911 to a band in Oamaru before moving to Hawera to teach at Hawera School. Was leader of the Municipal Brass Band, Hawera for some years. Grandfather of Rodger Dennis Fox, 1953- , leader of Rodger Fox Big Band. Died in 1960 aged 74 years [Source: Historical online BDM]
