Olympic Fanfare and Theme
The outstanding success of his scores for the films of George Lucas and Steven Spielberg thrust the modest and self-effacing John Williams into the limelight to such an extent that he became the natural choice as composer for a theme to open the 1984 Olympic Games held in Los Angeles. Williams did not disappoint and produced a stately, ceremonial march preceded by a stirring fanfare.
