The boundary between City of London and Hackney Borough passes down Sun Street. The modern street numbering appears idiosyncratic and patchy, but does consistently have odd numbers on the Hackney side of the street. The hall was the HQ of the 7th City of London regiment in the 1914-18 war, at number 24.
