The 1974 boundary changes moved the modern Vale of the White Horse District and a small amount of the modern South Oxfordshire district from Berkshire to Oxfordshire. At the same time, Stokenchurch parish was transferred to Buckinghamshire, and Caversham was transferred to Berkshire.
