Contest held in a field loaned by Soloman Baten.
Besses and Linthwaite were asked to play their pieces again so that the judge could make his final verdict.
"As soon as the Honley Band discovered that Mr. Embury was the judge they left the field, having, it is said, in consequence of disapproval of his decisions at former contests, made a vow never to contest again when he was the judge."
